A noninvasive skin imaging system
نویسنده
چکیده
A noninvasive system capable of quantifying both the position and concentration of the major constituents of human skin along with the internal architecture is presented. Input to the system is in the form of two infrared and one colour image which, through an understanding of the physics relating the light remitted by human skin to its internal structure, provides information about this internal structure. Specifically information relating to the amount of epidermal melanin, dermal blood, position and concentration of melanocytes invading the papillary dermis and the thickness of the papillary dermis is returned. These can then be used to construct a full 3-dimensional model allowing visualisation of the internal skin structure conveying information grossly comparable to that available through microscopical examination of biopsied skin tissue.

F-18 FDG PET/CT Imaging of Eccrine Sweat Gland Carcinoma of the Scrotum with Extensive Regional and Distant Metastases
Eccrine carcinoma is an extremely rare malignant skin cancer arising from eccrine sweat glands with a high metastatic potential. It mainly occurs in the elderly, with equal incidence in both sexes. It usually spreads to regional lymph nodes, with liver, lungs, and bones being the most common sites of distant metastasis. Because of tumor rarity, little is known about the value of F18- FDG PET/CT...
متن کاملA Laser Doppler Imaging System for Clinical Diagnosis Applications
The laser Doppler perfusion imager (LDPI, Fig. 1) is a recent development in the field of laser Doppler flowmetry. It has great potential in many medical applications for the noninvasive diagnosis of problems based on microvascular perfusion. Established applications include assessment of breast skin blood flow, wound healing, skin burn, and Systemic Sclerosis. This work aims to enhance the usa...

Great progress in optics, electronic engineering, and computer science provide an opportunity to diagnosis of skin diseases, estimating effectiveness of drugs and skin care products using non-invasive, non-destructive methods of analysis. Also many noninvasive methods using analytic devices are developed to assessment of the outcomes of dermatologic surgeries on malignant skin tumors. The aim o...
متن کاملBimodal magnetic resonance imaging-computed tomography nanoprobes: A Review
Bimodal imaging combines two imaging modalities in order to benefit from their advantages and compensate the limitations of each modality. This technique could accurately detect diseases for diagnostic purposes. Nanoparticles simultaneously offer diagnostic data via various imaging modalities owing to their unique properties. Moreover, bimodal nanoprobes could be incorporated into theranostic s...
متن کاملCombined in vivo confocal Raman spectroscopy and confocal microscopy of human skin.
In vivo confocal Raman spectroscopy is a noninvasive optical method to obtain detailed information about the molecular composition of the skin with high spatial resolution. In vivo confocal scanning laser microscopy is an imaging modality that provides optical sections of the skin without physically dissecting the tissue. A combination of both techniques in a single instrument is described. Thi...
